Yei River state passes 39 SSP million budget for 2017/2018

The Yei River State legislative assembly has endorsed 39 million South Sudanese pound budget for 2017/2018 fiscal year last week.
Speaking during the announcement, Lokoroto Daniel Arama, the Chairperson of the Committee of Finance and Economic Development at the state assembly said, the budget is to cater for prioritized areas in the government.
According to Arama, the implementation of the grass root peace agreement, maintenance of security and service delivery to the citizens are the priorities of the budget.
Arama continued that the implementation of the budget needs a collective responsibility from both the citizens and the government to release its projection at the end of the year.
Meanwhile, a resident in Yei County who asked not to be named has hailed the assembly for passing the budget for the first time since the state was formed and appealed to the government to be serious in implementing its plan for the citizens.
