Yei River state Government forms new cabinet
The Government of Yei River state, one of the newly created states in the country has formed a new cabinet for its Government after dissolving the old cabinet last week.
The newly sworn in ministers for the state Government include Huda Michael Laila, minister for local Government and law enforcement, Kenyi Abiaza John minister for Finance and Public service, Jacob Aligo Lo-Ladu Minister for Physical Infrastructure, Kogo Manase Levi minister for health and environment, Sadia Lona Antony minister for education, gender and social welfare, Catherine Juan Beneya is the new Minister for Agriculture, Forestry and Animal Resources meanwhile Alfred Keneth Duku takes over the ministry of Information, Culture Youth and Sports.
The new advisors are Jackson Abugo Gama advisor for political affairs, Muki Batali, advisor for security, Isaac Minyos advisor for special affairs and Samson Dada Barnabas is the advisor for peace, reconciliation and good Governance.
Speaking after the swearing in session on Tuesday, Jackson Abugo Gama who spoke on behalf of the advisors thanked the Governor for the new appointment and expressed readiness to work hard in advising the Governor in making good policies that will lead to peace and development in Yei River state.
Abugo says the National dialogue processes declared by the president will stand top agenda in releasing peace and tranquility in the state.
“Your Excellency the Governor, allow me to thank you on behalf of my colleagues. I would to take this time to say we will work as a team in promoting and supporting peace, plan for the development of our state and also work hard in uniting all the people across the state and we will support you in making policies that will lead for a better Yei River state,” Abugo said.
Meanwhile Huda Michael Laila who spoke on behalf of the minister also appreciated the Governor for entrusting them with the new responsibilities despites challenges battling the state.
Huda expressed commitment in working hard together with the Governor in ensuring that people at the grassroots get Government services and development projects.
“Yes we are a new cabinet with new plans for the state, your excellency Governor we need to work very hard this time in delivering services to our people despite the current challenges facing our state,” Huda added.
Addressing the new cabinet, Yei River state Governor David Lokonga Moses urged the new leadership to work towards people’s driven solutions to overcome the current challenges through peace, stability and delivery of basic social services.
“My Government together with all of you should work very hard to seeing that the grass root and national dialogue initiatives yield fruits for the sake of the suffering people in the thirteen counties of the state. Our role now is to prioritize efforts on peace and reconciliation and deliver services to the people” said Lokonga.
Lokonga also called on the new cabinet to make good policies based on well researched correct information that aims at making and taking the state to another prosperous level.
Lokonga further advised the new leadership to accept challenges, criticism and work out strategies to overcome challenges facing the state Government.
“Take up your new responsibilities and work hard to overcome the current challenges, put concrete steps in all your ministries towards delivering services to our people and above all ensure that we implement the peace agreement,” he added.
