Yei Central held to 1-1 draw by Easter FC

Yei Central FC was held to a one all draw by second division side, Easter Fc in a friendly match on Sunday.

After a boring goalless first half, the second half picked momentum with both sides creating chances. Easter’s John Kenyi scored in the 70th minute when midfielder Jacob Finish passed him a through-ball.  Yei Central equalized the goal in the 90th minute through playmaker, Andondoi. Right back Bida B. assisted Andondoi’s goal.

Yei Central Coach, Yaba Ojok Jackson said the game was okay as the players played with a lot of zeal and excitement.

“Everybody was excited for my return since I have been away in Juba for a long time. Especially the players, they missed me a lot, therefore, they are happy that I am back.”

“The team played with moral even after conceding the goal they did not give up, they continued to create chances until they equalized the goal in the last minutes. The team is great, I know they will do better now that I am here,” OJok told Juba Monitor in a phone interview yesterday.

 

Ojok appeals to the coaches in Yei who are willing to coach Yei Central to show up saying; he will be too committed in Juba in his new role in the National Coaches Committee as finance secretary. Ojok was nominated during the General Assembly held in Juba on 15th June 2017.

In other results, Luzira Super Stars demolished the on-form Black 04 FC by three goals to nil on Saturday. Super Stars Captain, Stephen Anyole scored twice in the first half and defender Ramandan Bullen scored a superb strike converting Anyole’s free kick.

Captain Stephen Anyole, who was named man of the match after scoring twice and assisting another said he is delighted with the performance of the team as they were so impressive and hostile in front of goal

“I’m impressed with my team’s performance. They looked dangerous each time they attacked, that is the spirit of wining,” Anyole said.
