Yambio residents demand services

The Azande community has demanded service delivery to the people of GbudueState.

The group met President Salva Kiir last week and discussed major projects to boost services to residents.

Provision of Water and Electricity in Yambio town, construction of Mamboi Airport and the Nzara Agro-Complex were the projects discussed.

The representatives said the projects will improve food security and employment opportunities for the youth.

The delegates from the Azande community were led by Transitional National Legislative Assembly (TNLA),speaker Anthony Lino Makana.

The group thanked President Kiir for accepting to meet them and listen to the concerns of Gbudue State.

The group requested for the relocation of South Sudan People’s Defense Force Garrison from Yambio Institute of Agriculture to allow the establishment of the Yambio University College of Agriculture and Forestry.

Present was Prof. Dr. Samson S. Wassara, Chairman of Upper Nile University Council and Director for Center for Peace and Development Studies at University of Juba.

Others included TNLA MP Bernardo Kpasira, Paramount Chief King Wilson Peni Rikito Gbudue, Major General (Police) Elia Kosta Faustino, the Chairperson of Greater Yambio Community Association (GYCA) in Juba, Isaac Aziz, the Secretary General of the Azande Community Organization (ACO) and three ladies representing the counties in Gbudue State.
