World Humanitarian Day celebrated Globally-SAADO celebrates Juma

Anna Nimiriano Editor in Chief Juba Monitor

Yesterday people all over the World have celebrated World Humanitarian Day under different themes based on the needs of individual organization in each country. It was an important day for institutions that working for humanitarian activities in the world.  Each country has its motive according to the needs or areas of supports.

For the reason that every individual country in Africa and the world at large have specific needs of humanitarian supports.  In developed countries the needs are different compared to under developing countries.

In South Sudan for example, Smile Again Africa Development Organization (SAADO) celebrated the day and it was dedicated to Mr.  Khamis  Juma Sebit Richard, a driver of SAADO as one of the heroes. It was not easy to scarify and do the work of Humanitarian, especially in a Country that has severe conflict like South Sudan and other party of Africa.  Some people are working in places where there is no adequate security, no good roads for the sake of others.  They worked between live and death, that is why those who worked for humanitarian activities risked their lives. Several of them died in the process of doing work. We need to appreciate them and encourage them to continue doing good job over the years.  I hope other Humanitarian Organizations in the country could also appreciate their staffs like what SAADO did to Mr. Juma.

However, the work of Humanitarian can be recognized among individuals too. Some people did humanitarian work at the family levels, community, church and others. We should appreciate them for what they have done to humanity. Above all is God who knows what we are doing daily.  He would be the one to recognize our work. Any person who did well for the poor and needy would be noted by God, because we are all answerable to Him.

The big recognition is at the end of the day when you are no longer in this world.  Yesterday people celebrated the day in their level of their country and organization, but one day, you would be recognized by the real judge who is evaluating your work on daily basis. Let’s do well so that we are appreciated by God not human beings.

May God bless us all.
