The Ramciel City Logo Selection Committee has announced the best designer for the proposed Capital City yesterday in a ceremony held at the Parliamentary Affairs Ministry Hall.
The chairman of the committee Dr. Kimo Adiebo announced Chol Anei as the winner of the best Logo designed out of the three shortlisted designers.
Anei who was the best winner was followed by David Ganiko Daniel and the third position was taken by Dr. Alias Louis who promised to establish a designing company that would improve the quality of the work in the country.
Anei was awarded the winning price of SSP 100 000 while the second winner, Ganiko got SSP 50 000 and Dr. Alias received SSP 30 000.
This is not the first time for Anei to win such a historic competition. He was the winner of the current Court of Arm logo in 2011 and logo of South Sudan Broadcasting Corporation in 2014.
According to Dr. Kimo, the selection was based on five criteria that the logo be an original idea, be simple, easy to be recognized and identified, ability to be used for any other purpose such as on T-shirt and pens and the durability of the logo to be used for 50 or 100 years and above.
He said the logo designed by Chol met all the five criteria.
Dr. Kimo revealed that the Ramciel Acts Bill was ready before the Council of Ministers awaiting approval adding that the feasibility study process was ongoing and the physical master plan was ready.
He added that they were also going to launch the project of the Ramciel but did not mention when that would be.
Ramciel is the proposed Capital City of South Sudan. It is located at the centre of the country that would easily be accessed by all people in different parts of South Sudan.
