VP Nyandeng discharged from hospital, continues to heal goiter surgery

The Vice President for Gender, Youth and Humanitarians Cluster, Rebecca Nyandeng de Mabior has been discharged from the hospital following an extensive surgery to remove a large goiter,her office said.

According to a statement shared on her Facebook page on December 31, 2021, the vice president was discharged and responding well to the medication.

“Following an extensive surgery to remove a large goiter, Vice President, HE. Rebecca Nyandeng de Mabior was released from the hospital and is making good progress in her recovery,” read in part the statement.

The statement also stated that doctors recommended her to take rest to ensure full recovery.

“Doctors recommended that she takes a lot of rest to ensure a full recovery, but she is back on her feet and feeling stronger by the day,” the statement read.

The Vice President on December 27, 2021 underwent surgery to remove a goiter in her throat in United Arab Emirate(UAE) according to her office manager Michael Mabior.

The procedure lasted for four hours, her office reported then, adding it went on successfully in the gulf state.
