Upgrading of Buluk playground kicks off

The upgrading of Buluk playground by GS Construction Company kicked off yesterday.
This comes after a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the GS Construction Company, Jubek State local athletic federation, national athletic of South Sudan and national South Sudan football association.
Eng. Juma Stephen, the Jubek State Minister of Information, Youth and Sports welcomed the improvement of playground.
“Today is another remarkable day for the sports family in the republic of South Sudan. We are happy that from here onwards we are putting steps to modernize our play grounds,” he said.
“We, as a sports family we have to make our level best that we move together to improve the football playgrounds in the country,” he said.
He said to improve the football activities in the country, South Sudanese need to come together in supporting the football activities in the country.
Joseph William Ladu, the President of Local Athletics Association of Jubek State said it was great news because the field was going to be modernized.
“Buluk playground has been only used for athletics, this time around the national football association due to lack of football fields in capital city, they have come up to request for the upgrading so that it can be used for both football and athletic,” he said.
“It would be upgraded by putting the artificial grass to allow the national team of football and other teams from states in case they are going out to train in it, he added.
Zeweldu Betremariam, the Deputy Managing Director of GS Construction said they were given 45 days to complete the upgrading of the Buluk playground.
“I promise on behalf of GS Construction Company that we are ready to complete the work per the given time,” Betremariam said.
