UNMISS offer medical support tocommunities in Yei
United NationsMission in South Sudan (UNMISS) on Wednesday extendedmedical support to the communities inLasuPayam ofYei river county CentralEquatoriaState.
Speaking to the media, Betty Tagi, a beneficiary expressedd gratitude to peace partners for the services offered to them.
She called on UNMISS to continue giving the medical support to the vulnerablecitizens who were mostly affected by the conflict in the rural areas.
“I am extremely so happy with the medical service UNMISS extended tous today in Lasu. We have been suffering here for so long withoutproper medical attendance. We urge you to continue helping us,” she said.
Peter Taban, another beneficiary said that the medical assistancegiven to themwill help cure some common diseases. He cited that they are faced with a challenge of clean drinking water saying many boreholes which were available got damaged.
“This medical assistance will help us a lot in curing some sicknesses that are disturbing us here in the village. We are alsofacing problem of clean drinking water,” Peter said..
Mary Annite, a resident of Lasusaid that the visit of UNMISSto the area gives them hope and confidence in the peaceimplementation.
She appealed to the government to speed up the complete formationof the transitional government to end the suffering of the citizens.
