UNMISS donates two ambulances to Lakes State

United Nations Mission in South Sudan field office in Rumbek on Friday donated two ambulances to Lakes State ministry of health.
Speaking during the occasion, the UNMISS field Coordinator in Rumbek Kwame Dmanena Aboagye said the two ambulances would support the activities at the isolation Center and infectious disease Covid-19 Unit in Rumbek.
“We are providing these two ambulances to ease the facilitations of cases of coronavirus at the isolation Center. This is the main purpose of the two ambulances given to you by UNMISS,” Kwame said.
He urged the Ministry of Health to take good care of the ambulances.
Dr. Makuac Anyuon, Director General in the Ministry of Health hailed the UNMISS under the leadership of Rumbek Field Coordinator for donating two ambulances to them.
“We are privileged to have received a needful support of two ambulances to Rumbek hospital from UNMISS field office. This is a great support to help Ministry of Health particularly Rumbek hospital to fight the coronavirus pandemic Covid-19,” Dr. Makuac said.
The Secretary General of defunct Western Lakes State Martin Maciec Kuc appealed to UNMISS and other partners to support the state government in controlling the spread of coronavirus in Lakes State.
However last week, the Lakes state ministry of health discharged its three patients after they were tested negative of Covid-19. The three patients were treated in isolation Centre at Rumbek hospital.
