Unknown gunmen have killed the son of former Central Equatoria state governor Clement Wani Konga, a few kilometers outside the country’s capital Juba, police spokesman Major-General Daniel Justin said.
Yaba Clement nicked name as Dwanya was gunned down at Lado Mountain, an area, where he and his father operate an agricultural farm, according to Major General Daniel Justin.
“Yes, I can confirmed this. He was killed on Sunday after leaving Juba going to Lado Mountain where his Father owns a farm. But up to now, we don’t have more details on how this young man was killed,” he said, adding that “the culprit has not been apprehended,” said Daniel.
As I talk we have not arrested anybody connected to the killing, our forces are in place searching for the culprits,” he added.
The body was found three days after the family had declared that he was missing after 24 hours.
Despite the signing of the Revitalized Peace Agreement, the capital Juba and other towns in the country are witnessing rise in crimes.
Last week, two men were killed by unknown gunmen who infiltrated the United Nations protection of civilian’s sites in Bentiu.
No arrest has been made, and IDPs have demanded that UN peacekeepers who are withdrawing troops stay.
