Two wrongs don’t make a right
By Nana Alfred
Sometimes we want to do the right thing but in a wrong way, we never really put thought into it and just react. But two wrongs can never make a right!
A person will never accept his/her wrongs if you approach him/her in a wrong way nor will he/she ever listen to what you are saying. Some people try to make a situation right by belittling others and that can never be right nor is it right for you to dim someone’s light in order for you to shine!
I went through this just few days ago where by I knew someone was doing something really wrong and their intentions wasn’t to hurt the other person but was to correct them and it was so wrong that I even made the same mistake by addressing the issue in a completely wrong way.
I was right, trying to let that person know of their wrong ways but I also did it in a wrong way and it made both of us wrong! It didn’t make the situation any better in fact it just got worse and by the time I acknowledged my fault it was too late. The damage was already made. I hurt this individual that I was trying to correct. I belittled this individual! And there was no coming back from the point where we left things.
This statement “two wrongs don’t make a right” never made so much sense to me until few days ago. I understood how important it is for you to think before you react, to find out the most perfect way to approach a situation before just saying whatever you want to say.
People are different, they behave in a different way and think in a different way but no matter what even if it’s you who is in the fault you will never want someone to just attack you, for you to appreciate someone for telling you the truth they must reach out to you in a humble way, in a way that will be easy for you to listen and understand.
At the end of the day, we are all humans, we hear advices but still make the same mistakes we were once warned about and that’s absolutely normal. Life teaches us through our mistakes and the challenges we face everyday and sometimes, just sometimes we have to learn the hard way, we have to learn through putting ourselves in situations we know we weren’t meant to head there but that’s when it sinks into your head.
That’s how you know life is awful, ordinary and beautiful at the same time. And the awful moments balances with the ordinary and the beautiful moments too, everything that happen, happens because it was meant to happen, for your own good! To help you reach where you are right now. This is life!
