Two Ethiopian nationals believed to be business men were killed over the weekend by unknown assailants in Juba, police said yesterday.

The Spokesperson of the national Police Service Brigadier Daniel Justine confirmed that the bodies of the deceased were found on Monday morning in Nyakuron East residential area just a few meters away from Nyakuron Cultural Centre.

“I confirmed the attack on the two Ethiopian shopkeepers who were attacked at about 5am on Monday morning in Nyakuron. Police officials went to the scene and collected the bodies which are now in the hospital for postmortem,” Brig. Daniel told Juba Monitor in a phone interview.

The police spokesperson further added that investigations were still under way to capture the suspects.

“We are still investigating the motive behind the killing of these Ethiopian nationals. The police are also trying to find out those who are responsible for the murder and bring them to book,” he added.

Brig. Daniel strongly condemned the atrocity and called on the public to embrace peaceful co-existence with one another as peace looms on the horizon.
