Tonj Youth urged to embrace unity

The chairman of Tonj state Youth Union in Juba has called upon their colleagues in the town to embrace unity and cooperation among themselves.

Dut Lual Anei said unity among the youth was paramount for peace in the country.

“Tonj youth here in Juba should know that unity and cooperation among them is very important because only through unity that they can achieve the peace South Sudanese want,” Lual said.

He was speaking during artistry celebration in honoring Chol Anei for his countless achievements in designing. The celebration was held at South Sudan Palace Hotel in Juba yesterday.

Chol Anei, the great South Sudanese Artist has won several contests in drawing.

Anei not only won the competition of the current South Sudan’s Court of Arms, he also won the highly contested logo of Ramciel, the proposed capital city of the country.

Mr. Lual encouraged youth to take career in arts and called upon the government to recognize Chol.

“The youth should follow the footsteps of Chol Anei to be able to sustain themselves, their family and people like him who are supposed to be given position by the government in recognition of his great achievement,” Lual added.

Bona Bol Deng, a third year student at the University of Juba who hails from Tonj said they were inspired by the achievement of Chol adding that he had become a role model.

“We are proud of Chol Anei. He is a role model because he has won several awards as an artist. He has put Tonj State on the map and we want the government to reward him more,” Bol said.

Christine, 18 said she was happy to honor Chol and his family for his talent.

“I am glad and proud of him. He has inspired me and the young generation to take career in designing. Other people look at fine arts as a useless field of profession but it is very good and can make someone to become a job creator,” Christine stated.
