South Sudanese get MasterCard scholarship to USA

A female student got scholarship through MasterCard scholarship Foundation to the United States of America to study her masters after the other ten students earlier went to Ghana on the same scholarship.
Speaking to Juba Monitor by phone, Samuel Geng Adup the Chief Executive officer/Co-founder of Community Rebuilds on Self-reliance Strategy (CROSS) confirmed that Elizabeth Apou will be flying to the USA in a weeks-time from Nairobi. He said she is a South Sudanese female student who will study Masters in Theology for two years in one of the American universities.
“Elizabeth will be visiting South Sudan annually for her holiday. However, the coordinator and Gender Specialist has been doing wonderful with Priscilla Ajong Mayar as the student advisor too at CROSS before they got their scholarship.”
“I will recruit others in their position but when they come back after finishing their studies, we will still welcome them as our utmost employees,” he added.
Geng also assured South Sudanese students aspiring for the scholarship to check out with Juba Monitor and Dawn Newspapers for CROSS advertisements twice or thrice a month. Also, students to keep checking online through MasterCard scholarship Foundation.
“We CROSS do follow up with our main partner Mastercard that offer scholarships to the whole world. We only coordinate scholarships for South Sudanese and we are glad to inform you that a good number of students have been accepted in University of Kwame Nkrumah of Ghana,” he concluded.
Speaking to Juba Monitor from Nairobi-Kenya, Elizabeth Apou said she will be missing South Sudan for a while now as she will reroute from Frankfurt to Chicago in USA.
“I already miss my people since I arrived to Nairobi, and now I will really miss them a lot as I am heading to Chicago via Frankfurt in Germany and I hope for my annually holidays I will definitely see my homeland South Sudan again.” She added.
The Undersecretary in the Ministry of General Education and Instruction Dr. Kuyok Abol Kuyok in Juba acknowledged the developmental endeavors done by partners in facilitating the scholarship on behalf of South Sudanese.
Dr. Kuyok commended the efforts of CROSS and MasterCard scholarship Foundation International for offering South Sudanese scholarship program.
CROSS is an organization that coordinates the scholarship for South Sudanese students through Mastercard scholarship foundation.
