Thousands of South Sudanese people living in the Ugandan capital Kampala on Thursday showed up for the beauty contest under the South Sudan Talent Youth Awards at the International University of East Africa.
The event was graced by the presence of South Sudanese music legendaries including Silver X, David Pachong Mading, John Kudusay and Cool B among other South Sudanese Kampala based artists.
Speaking to the audience, Maker Paul Madit who was the guest of the honour appealed to South Sudanese youth to be creative and make good use of their beauty saying they had natural beauty.
“Make your beauty known through love and unity by organizing a unifying event such as the South Sudan Talent Youth Awards,” he said.
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Domkoch Manguen said South Sudan Talent Youth Awards was meant to rediscover and portray the beautiful nature of South Sudanese boys and girls to the entire world.
He said the beauty of South Sudanese young people was given by the Almighty God and it must be promoted in order to inspire the generations to come
He urged the young people to be like the Mr. Chris Anzo Martin and crowned queen of beauty contest Ms. Eman Agwet who won the 2018-2019 South Sudan Talent Youth Awards.
“The positive part of the talent awards is to encourage young people to be the ambassadors of peace and reconciliation among the local communities of South Sudan,” Mr. Manguen said.
