South Sudan qualifies for AFCON-2021 group

The Bright Stars of South Sudan beat Seychelles 1-0 away in Victoria City to qualify 3-1 on aggregate, to the group stage of the 2021 nation’s cup qualifiers.
South Sudan is in group with rival neighbors Uganda Cranes, Bukina Faso and Malawi.
South Sudan had to turn to their sizeable Australian-based contingent in naming an expansive 32-man squad for next month’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
A total of 12 have been initially named for the matches as they looked to boost their chances with more players from international leagues.
Two Australian under-23 internationals and a former Norwegian junior international have been named by coach Ashu Cyprian Besong for the two-legged preliminary round tie against the Seychelles and that paid off.
South Sudan, whose stadium in Juba is being rebuilt, were forced to host the ‘home’ leg tie, which they won 2-1, in Khartoum, Sudan.
Thanks to goals from Koang Thok and Joseph Kuch, who also scored the winning goal in Victoria City.
