Sodom and Gomorrah in South Sudan

The above topic was taken in Genesis 19: 23-29, when God was not happy with the lives of people in the cities and all valleys, He sent fire from heaven and destroyed all habitants of the cities and what grew on the ground. If you read the above mentioned chapter and verses; you can understand the whole story and the anger of God during that time.

Rev. John Louis, Pastor-in charge of Gudele A.Parish, Presbyterian Church in South Sudan reflected the situation of South Sudan like Sodom and Gomorrah. He said this because of what had happened in South Sudan and still is continuing in other places around Juba. He further said South Sudan was in immoral condition, that this activity was being done in hotels and lodges by foreigners in Juba.

They were using our girls and women because they have money. The language used for the business was “short way or short cut”. Girls and women who have no money use this business in order to get money.

That is why there are a lot of diseases due to sexual conduct in wrong way. Women and girls sell their bodies just to get money. If government is not serious to address this issue or put rules in hotels, one day God will get angry with people of South Sudan.

The mistake of building those hotels in residential areas was the mistake of the owners of the plots. They didn’t see the risk of having hotels and lodges in residential areas. Rev. Louis said this statement on 25th of this month, when he was preaching in the funeral prayer of Mama Susan Juru Albino who died on 16th of this month 2021 in Khartoum with breast Cancer.

Rev. Louis said,“let us pray to God, He will give us money in a good way. Let us not destroy South Sudan because of hardship in living or economic crisis.Women and girls should keep their dignity, let them work and get money in good way, from the work they are doing.”

May God bless us all.
