PEACE, Kiir, Machar meet the second day

The peace meeting for consultation between President Salva Kiir Mayardit and Dr. Riek Machar entered its second day at the State House in Juba with a call for the two principals to be committed to the process.
The deputy Chairman of the Sudanese Ruling Council, Mohamed Hamdan called on all signatories to the peace accord to ensure they met the extended 100 days for the talks to address the pending contentious issues which had brought about the extension.
Sudan is the current chair of the Intergovernmental Development Authority (IGAD). Hamdan said he was committed to see that peace was restored because people of Sudan and South Sudan had suffered a lot and needed normal life to return to their countries.
He called on the partners and the world to support the ongoing peace agreement in South Sudan and Sudan, the “two are bilateral circumstance, our people have suffered a lot, we need people to stand with us,” Hamdan said.
He stated that they have always been talking about to have humanity and democracy, now democracy have been achieved in Sudan.
“We don’t have political Prisoners, we don’t have prisoners from the armed group and this signifies progress,” Hamdan said.
He stated that this does not happen in the developed countries so there is democracy in Sudan and we are happy that our brothers are fully committed in implementing the peace that you are yet to witness.
Hamdan encouraged both south Sudanese and Sudanese to always preach peace and “we will follow up the implementation day by day and I am sure in tomorrow’s meeting their will be progress,” Hamdan said.
The Chairman of the National Pre-transitional Committee Tut Gatlauk said that in the meeting Mohamed Hamdan and Dr. Machar assured their readiness in implementing the peace agreement.
“We will celebrate peace and that will be the final translation for peace and as you see Dr. Machar came to follow up with the peace agreement,” he said.
