No budget for farmers’ union, says official

The government has no budget for famers union instead the members depend on the union countrywide, said Chairperson National Farmers Union Mathuc Akol Akol
Akol said that the union has failed to run the its activities after the former Chairperson of the Union has failed to pay the rent for over five years that resulted into conflict between the owner of the house ,constructors and the current leadership of the union
“We don’t have the new office .the case is in the court because the former chairperson did pay the rent and constructors .we are looking for the house for renting because government has no budget for the union we depend on ourselves as farmers’ union ,”said Akol Akol .
He said that his leadership is ready to pay all the debt that came as allege mismanagement of the former leadership.
“The Executives of the union headed by me we are going to mobilizes famers from all the states to pay for rent and constructors in order for the court to release our office furniture so that we can starts our activities in the new office,” he added.
He reveled that within two months he ready to move to the states to see the agriculture products of the famers.
This union belong to South Sudan but not to individual because we want famers of this nation and the entries South Sudanese to benefit from the farming activities,” said
He said his office is functional with the 15 executive supports that comprise of Secretary General, Justin Laku and James Amum Secretary of Finance and many others.
Mathuc Akol Akol was the former North Bahr El Ghazel State after division of the States Akol Akol became Chairperson Farmers Union in Aweil State and now running National Farmers Union in South Sudan.
