Nile Pay in collaboration with Zain Telecom Company has launched a mobile money mobile transfer platform making it the second electronic money service after m-Gurush.
The launch was done on Tuesday in Juba attended by bankers, government officials and the general public.
It provides platform for sending and receiving money, as well as paying for services.
Asara Bullen Panchol the communications officer of the company said the service will reach rural areas.
The firm has partnered with banks to offer products that will promote financial inclusion and access to loans for small-scale business people.
Justin Alier De Mayen, the Undersecretary of Information and Communication, said the government will ensure right polices are formed and conducive environment for the business.
“We are working to ensure that investors and business people are attracted and not scared away. We believe that the government should not be the only employer”.
He added that sustainable development could be achieved if middle-class business people are involved.
“It is the business that sustains development. The country cannot progress without involving business people, having a middle-class that has no purchasing power cannot move you to the next level of development,”Alier said.
He urged the public to make use of opportunities created by mobile money companies in order to ease sending and receiving money.
“With this idea in place, I urge our people to make use of this chance created for you,” Alier urged.
