South Sudan National Youth Union (SSNYU) led by the Chairperson Gola Boyoi Gola has promised to embark on entrepreneurship for the youth in order for them to get foundation knowledge and resources to start and lead their own businesses in the country.

On Tuesday, South Sudan National Youth Union launched a panel discussion on entrepreneurship under the theme “Youth Engagement for Sustainable Peace and Development.”

Speaking to the press during the discussion on Tuesday, Africiano Mande, the former Governor of defunct Maridi state, who was also the guest of honor, said the government was working hard to provide youth with opportunities to build leadership and management entrepreneurship on sustainable development so that the business can shape some of the policies in different sectors in the government within business community.

“Business entrepreneurship was very important because I witnessed young men and women in Kenya sitting like that and discussed exactly the kind of questions here, questioning the fact that the nationals have been pushed  to the corner by saying that government  have not made credible intervention in terms of giving them capital to start business,” Africano said.

Gola Boyoi Gola, the Chairperson for South Sudan National Youth Union stated that the union together with youth coalition and the other partners have an idea for engaging youth entrepreneurship supported by the European Union.

“We heard that there was 5M euros injected to the government to support young entrepreneurship,” he said.

“We want to work as National Youth Union to make sure that we engage our youth into entrepreneurship in the country,” Boyoi said.

He added that the Union has tried to engage young people with knowledge that will make them creative and make them marketable instead of sitting idle in the streets.
