MPs condemn attack on civilians in former Twic State

The MPs representing former Twic State, Turalei County in the national government have condemned a recent attack on the civilians in the area.
The MPs said that the attacks of such kinds have continued to escalate in the area without stoppage.
Speaking on behalf of former Twic State MPs yesterday, Kuany Mayom Deng said the attack happened at Majok-noon area in Twic.
He said that they were upset by the recurrence of attacks in the area even when it was time for peace.
“During the attack, one person was killed and three others were injured. This is not the first time for such attack to happen. The same group used to attack the area,” Mr. Deng noted.
The Member of Parliament alleged that the attackers were believed to have come from Unity State.
“Therefore, we urge our government of national unity to intervene on this barbaric act perpetrated by some individuals and to investigate and bring the culprits to book,” Deng stated.
He said that the incidences of cattle attacks were escalating among the people in his area.
“This incident of cattle raiding and killings are worsening already despite desperate food situation due to flooding that destroyed the area. So the population require an immediate intervention,” he concluded.
