Mourning of Ugandan traders from Juba to Nimule has been misperceived for protests over the past two days.
Speaking to Juba Monitor on phone, the Head of police in Nimule Deng Piol confirmed that the traders were mourning their two colleagues whose bodies were discovered after being kidnaped and killed along Juba-Nimule road last week and one of them who died of malaria in Juba.
He said that the public misunderstood the traders to be protesting when they were seen gathering near the immigration office for clearance to take the bodies of the deceased back to Uganda.
“There were nine vehicles from Aru Junction which went up to Uganda but they were not protesting, they were only crying for their three beloved brothers while transporting the bodies’ home,” said Piol.
He stated that vehicles reached Nimule at 11: pm Monday with two bodies and left at 1: am on Tuesday morning.
