Militarization of governance without development kills the nation

I write this article as a concerned citizen about the general condition being faced by our people in our beloved country through the practice of oppression as control of citizens without minding about their safety of life within the society.

It is one way of subjecting people to suffering and death without any accountability. They only know how to create conflicts and wars as a way of monopolizing power and resources of the nation for their personal benefits.

Therefore the purpose of militarization of governance without economic development kills the nation in the end. It leads to failure of development as there is no economic progress and prosperity taking place within the nation. This means no provision of social welfare benefits to citizens as the country is always engaged in fighting itself, while the leadership clings to power by force. It becomes pure dictatorship and tyranny that reinforcing militarization program with the purpose of making wealth that leads to economic collapse within the country. So monopolization of status quo and power is than to gain personal interests with families, friends and other political opportunist supporters that come from successive Islamic Arab regime of the Sudan.

Prudent people are always watchful with jealous and keen eyes political crisis that led to the suffering of the people because of military control of the institutions of governance without development taking place in the society.

In this way the government has failed to defend the common interest of citizens as they never managed to create central command of the army within the nation. Of course there is no attractive foreign policy that can be imposed over the army by strong executive leadership.

Military forces if not adequately controlled might be used by wrong elements to seize control of the government seen as threat to democracy. There are military personnel who do abuse power by using maximum force which must be overcome by strong executive command not to degrade into dictatorship or demagoguery. Such military forces should always be subjected to civilian authority as the best way of protecting democracy within the country. Thus the act of force has to be understood narrowly as an applied instrument of coercion through use of military force in order to save the nation from any domestic and external danger that is threatening the nation.

Strictly speaking to engage the national security and body guards against the public in war campaign instead of using police is illegal. It is the duty of the police to impose rule of law within the country. So it is an unwise decision to involve national security without empowering police to deal directly with those who have violated the law within the society.

National security personnel do not only provide information to the police anybody that has committed crime. It is one of the government organs that directly deals with civilians without any cause of alarm.

Truly it is wrong to use security apparatus against the public because it can be problematic. It is unacceptable to encroach into individual freedom which does result into protest of citizens against the government at the end.

Never intimidate citizens’ privacy and interests by using security personnel against people. Especially, if they have never done anything wrong or committed treason, sedition, sabotage, and espionage in the society; even if they have not even committed any perjury, bribery, and obstruction of justice within the country.

This scenario might sound pathetic demanding our people and international leadership of good will to make action towards change of regime to achieve peace. This should be done through the process of democracy as way of avoiding bloodshed and death of poor citizens.

It is time to get up and say enough is enough as we do believe in freedom, democracy and rule of law without dictatorship and tyranny. Worthily to militarize system of governance on tribal line has proven to be wrong and incorrect as we should grow up together in peace and unity with love as brothers and sisters in Christ. However, Sudanile Defense Forces (SDF) is there for protection and defence of our mother land from any external enemy that may be seen to be a threat to the nation. Only for us to empower police to do their job of security not by strengthening personal power and wealth that becomes pure corruption that lead to collapse of the economy within the country. We have to avoid use of force intended for owning resources for personal satisfaction with families and friends without caring for the citizens.

It is a way of owning beautiful things for enjoyment without minding for people’s lives that create political crisis and violence within the country. That is the nature of human beings to fight over ownership of good things of course in selfish manner. This is well illustrated once at a time by two powerful spirits which have clashed over beautiful daughter, princess in the Kingdom. They are Legend of Son Tinh (Mountain spirit) and Thuy Tinh (Sea spirit) who have rival over beautiful princess Mi Nuong within the Kingdoms.

Thus, Emperor Hung Vuong the Eighteenth had a beautiful daughter, Princess Mi Nuong. Her beauty was so renowned that many suitors from foreign lands came to ask the Emperor for her hand. However, the Emperor did not believe that any one of them was good enough for his beautiful daughter. He wanted Mi Nuong to marry someone really distinguished and powerful. Her mother, the Empire was very much concerned for Mi Nuong’s future. The Empress looked at her daughter saying: “It is time you should get married, my darling. I hope your father will find a suitable man for you.”

The Princess could not hide her emotion and happiness while her beautiful eyes were blurred with tear. She said “mother, thank you so much for your thoughtfulness. It is up to you and Father to decide for me. I understand that I have to get married and bear children like other women. I believe Father will choose a suitable person.”  One day, at the court there appeared two young men. One of them was Son Tinh, the Mountain Spirit, and the other one was Thuy Tinh, the Sea Spirit. Both of them were equally handsome, distinguished, and powerful. The difference in character between the two men was that, Son Tinh was gentle and quiet, while Thuy Tinh had a fiery temper.

Son Tinh bowed his head and respectfully said to the Emperor: “My name is Son Tinh. My Kingdom includes all Mountains. I reign over all creatures living on the mountains. I own all the riches of the mountain including all the beautiful trees, plants, and flowers. I can summon lions and birds. I can make the mountains grow high to the sky. I want to marry the Princess and promise to bring her happiness and an eternal life.”

Thuy Tinh stepped forward, bowed his head and said: “My name is Thuy Tinh. I am the spirit of the Seas. I reign over all creatures living in the water. I own all coral, pearls, and treasures under the Sea. I can raise the level of the Sea as high as high as the Mountain top. I can make rain and gather storms. If the Princess marries me, she will become the queen of the Sea. The most magnificent undersea palace will be heirs.’’

The Emperor listened attentively to the suitors. He was reluctant in his choice because both suitors arrived at the same time and were equally handsome and powerful. Then he said to the suitors: “Tomorrow whoever brings the wedding gifts first, will have the hand of the Princess.” The suitors left the court and hurried back to their Kingdoms in the hope of getting married with the Princess.

Thuy Tinh had all his men collect the best pearls and jewelry, and the most exquisite sea food and delicious seaweed. Son Tinh rushed back to the Mountain. He ordered his men to collect the best diamonds and the most precious stones they could find. He also selected the most delicious fruit and most fragrant flowers on earth for the Emperor and the Empress.

The next morning Son Tinh and a hundred attendants were the first who came to the court. He brought trays full of jewels and baskets full of mango, grapes, strawberries, roses, orchids, etc. The Emperor was delighted with all the gifts. He agreed to let Son Tinh marry his daughter. Mi Nuong bid farewell to the Empress. Then she stepped into the palanquin and followed Son Tinh to his Kingdom on the Mountain.

After Son Tinh and Mi Nuong had just left the court, Thuy Tinh came with his men carrying trays of jewels, pearls, and baskets full of sea food. Thuy Tinh was so angry when he heard Mi Nuong had gone with Son Tinh just minutes before. He immediately ordered his men to pursue Son Tinh and take Mi Nuong away. Thuy Tinh yelled at his men and flourished his magic sword. Then the creatures in the sea turned into thousands of soldiers. Heavy rains began to blow. The water level rose higher and higher. The high waves and the flood washed down thousands of trees and houses.

Son Tinh had his own magic wand, too. He turned the animals on the Mountain into thousands of soldiers to fight back. He turned the Mountain higher as the water rose. The war between Son Tinh and Thuy Tinh lasted for days. No one won the war. Many lives were lost. Finally, Thuy Tinh and his men ceased and withdrew to the sea. However, Thuy Tinh could not give up the idea of taking the Princess back for himself. So, every year Thuy Tinh raises the water and gathers storms up to the Mountain top where Son Tinh and Mi Nuong are living. In the end he never wins the war. Every year, when the war between the two spirits breaks, people and animals suffer, crops and proprieties are destroyed.

In conclusion, it is the same thing like the ongoing conflict between warlords in South Sudan which is all about lust for power and wealth which cannot be won by anyone in the end. It is pure selfishness of human being who fights against each other for power to own good things by destroying the nation. Thus ownership of resources with claim of governing people without respect of human rights is wrong. That is bad orientation on communist ideology during the struggle as are taught how to use gun and bullet against citizens. In this case, it is a matter of time for (Bullet Hole Palace) to be taken over by nackat rates that have sneaked themselves into bullet palace through bullet hone. They are ready to turn (Bullet Hole Palace) into museum to keep in skeletons of separatist leaders who have madly been killed during the struggle by warlords. These naked rates have determination of changing the regime with strong and dynamic leader that can stop random killing of poor citizens. Such leader does have moral authority and sense of pragmatism with strong believes in Christian values, norms and moral ethics. But mind you militarization of the system of governance is useless as it teaches young people bad culture of killing brother by brother within the society.
