The Youths of Lafon County in Eastern Equatoria state have called on the state government to ensure peace prevails in the State.
This came during a press release issued by the Lafon County Union Officials following the attack of a motorcyclist along with two other passengers on Loudo- Oronyo road by three unknown persons in Torit last week.
The unknown attackers robbed SSP 5000 and phones from the passengers.
Paul Ukach Nyibuch, the youth Union Chairperson of Lafon County condemned the act and urges the government to intervene.
Speaking to Juba Monitor on phone, Ingofok Iru Omene who is the Executive Director of Lafon said that their youths were peaceful.
He added that they don’t want their people to be killed innocently saying the government should work to bring peaceful solutions in the State.
“We have formed our youth union and we are here trying to contribute for good governance of the country”, said Iru.
He said that those people who do attack and cause trouble to people on the roads should face the law because the act might not only happen in one particularly county.
Road ambushes have been blamed on unknown gunmen with the recent one which occurred along Juba Nimule highway two weeks ago where two people were killed and five children kidnapped but four were later recovered.
