Juba -Terekeka road tarmacking to be completed by November

The tarmacking of the Juba-Terekeka road would completed by November 2020, the Public Relations Officer of Shandong Hi-speed Company Limited said.
The government and the Chinese Company Shandong Hi-speed Limited reached an agreement last year for the construction of the Major High Ways and Interstate road.
The agreement reached last year includes upgrading roads linking States of Greater Bahr el Ghazal region, to Equatoria and Upper Nile.
Scot Xiu, the Public Relations Officer for Shandong Hi-Speed Company Limited told Juba Monitor that the laying of aggregate on the Juba-Terekeka road has started.
“Construction of first section of aggregate base has also commenced at the base to enable the smooth and speedy implementation of the project,” he said.
“The aggregate laying has started off three kilometers on the road and is expected to be complete by the end of next week (this week) and then the next stage of construction will continue,” he said.
Once completed, the road would facilitate smooth movement of goods and services.
The Juba to Wau road is expected to end in 2021 when it shall be handed over to the government of South Sudan through the Ministry of Roads and Bridges.
