Gov’t, Qatar give-and-take scheduled for betimes next year

The bilateral talk between Qatar and South Sudan is scheduled to resume early next year due to the halt of the trip after two members of the advance team tested Covid-19 positive.  

The government delegation to Qatar would discuss MOU signed by the two Countries in September 2020 at Qatar Mission Headquarter in New York pegged on establishing diplomatic relationship, and cooperation in the disciplines of politics economy, business and culture.

The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Deng Dau yesterday revealed to Juba Monitor that the countries are still having good relationship despite the pending program after receiving Minister Mayiik Ayii Deng accompanied by Minister of Investment Dr. Dhieu Mathok at Juba International Airport (JIA) upon their arrival from Doha Qatar.

“The bilateral talks with one of the Gulf nations is now set to resume early next year. We are still having good relationship despite that pending diplomatic ties with Qatar”, he said.

Dau stated that the Minister were not sick as perceived but it was an observation protocol of Covid-19 as globally regulated which the National Ministry of Health is not exempted to follow.

He acknowledged that the Ministry of Health has the same lab apparatus with equal standard like any other International set up laboratories.

“Our National Ministry has the same standards with other International laboratories, same PCR. I do not think we have problem with labs here.  What happened was an observation protocol that is globally mandated to be carry out to all travelers. Our ministers were quarantine on this very note, just to comply with protocol of Covid-19 but not that they were so sick of virus”, he concluded.

Nevertheless, Mrs. Adhang Gum Akec the staff from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation thanked God for the arrival of the Ministers safely back into the Country.

“I am very thankful to God for bringing us back safely and our able Minister. You can see how we adorned him with this attires and gifts as well, this is to show that, we are very pleased to received him back to the office”, she underscored
