The newly appointed Governor of Eastern Equatoria State Louis Lobong Lojore is expected to arrive in the State capital Torit on Thursday (today)
The citizens were ready to receive Governor Lobong on Tuesday but the Steering Committee for reception rescheduled it due to heavy downpour.
Speaking to Juba Monitor on Tuesday, Fr. Ausilio Odume Chairperson of the Steering Committee for the Reception of Governor Lobong said the adjournment would give them enough time for preparation.
“The reason of the postponement was that, there was a lot of rain and things became difficult and also we are still receiving people from Kapoeta, Magwi that is why we postponed his reception,” he said, by then the people from these two areas had not yet arrived.
Fr. Ausilio said many people from different parts of the State including Kapoeta and Magwi were expected to converge in Torit Town to welcome Governor Lobong.
“We have made all the arrangements for reception of the people, all the communities in Eastern Equatoria are being mobilized and all are now around, we have accommodated all the people in the hotels and even the hotels are now full,” he said.
The cleric said the state ministry of health has planned to distribute facemasks to all the delegates as a measure to prevent the spread of coronavirus pandemic.
