Governor condemns attack by armed youth

The Governor of Warrap State, Bona Panek Biar has condemned the attack which left four people dead in Warrap last week on Monday.
The attack was believed to have been carried out by armed youth alleged to be from neighboring Unity State.
The incident took place at Gomgoi village, short distance away from the town of Ajak-kuach Payam in Twic County.
Speaking to Juba Monitor yesterday, Warrap State Governor, Bona Panek Biar said the sporadic incident claimed the lives of two mothers and two children while other two children sustained injuries.
“The attackers who committed the atrocities are believed to have come from Mankin of Mayom County, Unity State.
The unidentified attackers stormed into the area and started shooting randomly on innocent locals and later deserted after committing the crime,” Panek said.
He described the situation as unfortunate adding that he was extremely saddened about the tragic incident that diminished lives of people.
Governor Panek promised to engage with his counterpart in Unity State to ensure the culprits are arrested and brought to book.
Panek appealed to citizens to remain calm as the State government continues to stabilize the security situation in the area.
