Jonglei State governor Col. Philip Aguer is in consultation with the leadership of the former Sudan People’s Liberation Movement in Opposition (SPLM-IO) of the First Vice President following the impeachment of the Minister of Labour.
Last week Jonglei state Members of Parliament passed a vote of no confidence against the Minister of Labour after he revealed ghost names in the assembly.
The Lawmakers argued that the minister deformed the assembly by releasing out the report being submitted to the state council of minister.
Col. Aguer to Juba Monitor on Thursday that he was in consultation with SPLM-IO leadership since the Minister of Labour was under the SPLM ticket.
However, Col. Aguer stressed that the minister was implementing the policy of the government which was to screen all ghost names.
”If there is misunderstanding between the minister and parliament then we need to consult with his party leadership in order to find amicable solution to the conflict,” he said.
”We have already briefed the leadership on the matter on Wednesday and we are all looking forward to seeing the possible solution to manage the conflict,” Governor Aguer added.
He dismissed the allegation of the minister being put under house arrest adding that minister was free but only advised only not to communicate and talk to the media. “He is not supposed to go to the office until the matter is resolved.”
Col. Aguer urged the Members of Parliament and the Labour Minister to cooperate despite of misunderstanding that has arisen.
”We are implementing the agreement that allows the collaboration between SPLM-IO and the SPLM in government and as a ruling party, we need to maintain the spirit of cooperation,” he said.
