The Ministry of Housing and Urban Development is planning to organize Juba city and other towns across the country into a modern setting, the minister has said.
Speaking to the Press Monday, AlfredLadu Gore said his ministry has set up master plans to demarcate Juba and other towns in the country to transform them into modern cities.
Gore said they still awaits a Land Policy, whichonce promulgated, he said, the ministry will be able to implement all its plans.
He said Juba city was organized on a rural setting style where people are forced to stay in a Tukulskind of houses with no drainage channels for runningwater, no electricity and good roads.
“We have discussed with some foreign investors from Germany, Kuwait, United States of America and South Africa to come and invest in real estate so that our people can be accommodated in modern buildings,” Gore said
The minister also disclosed that they have proposed to take some of the director generalsin the ministry for learning visit to Kigali to study how to build towns that are in the characteristics of South Sudan.
The major challenge the ministry faces is lack of engineers to do the work, Gore regretted.
