The Minister of Housing and Urban Development Alfred Ladu Gore has strongly dismissed a circulating rumor that he has rebelled against the government and joined his former boss Dr. RiekMachar.

“I am neither for Dr. RiakMacharnor Gen. Taban Den Gai.I am not part of the two factions, I am for the Transitional Government of National Unity,” Gore said

“The talk about that I have rebelled against the government istotally false. Why should I rebel against the government which I am part of? I am here in Juba as the minister of housing.”

When fighting erupted between the forces loyal to RiakMachar and those loyal to President SalvaKiir in July this year, Gore, then deputy chairman and commander-in-chief of the SPLA/M-IOremained in Juba.

Speaking yesterday for the first time to journalists about the July events, Gore said he would have fled together with Dr.Machar if he wanted to rebel.

The transitional government of national unity has the responsibility to bring sustainable peace and development into the country, he said reiterating that he will never support war as a means of resolving the crises in South Sudan.

“I want to tell you that I have not rebelled and I will not do that as long as I am still alive because I want this country to remain peaceful so that we address the challenges that the country is facing.”Gore said.

“I cannot support any idea of either from Dr. RiakMachar or SalvaKiir of ending the current crises through war.”
