The Minister of Gender and Social Welfare in Gogrial State Abut Kherubino Akec Kolnyin has resigned from her position on Wednesday last week.
Kherubino said her resignation came as a result of concern that she is a medical doctor by profession and cannot execute duties and responsibilities that linked to being the Minister of Gender.
In a farewell message, Kherubino said her work in the ministry was a great experience as she worked with a team that granted her political backup and administrative support she needed.
Other supports included the planning and implementation of official programmes and project, which she said enabled her to coordinate and collaborate with functional units in the health sector at Kuajok.
Speaking to Juba Monitor over phone yesterday from Gogrial capital Kuajok, Kherubino said it has been a fulfilling experience and great pride in the numerous initiative that were taken under her watch to ensure the prior preparations for ever the changing working environment within political profession.
“As am newly engaged in politics with support from my colleagues, the State has indeed engaged me in the political affairs for capacity development pertaining to issues of management and leadership ability to deliver services to the people.
“The Ministry of Health did just that to meet the needs of the entire civil population of Gogrial State,” she added.
She explained that her six-month task work has been mainly protecting and promoting public health and providing welfare and other social security services.
She pointed that she is committed to work through the transitional period as she waits for a smooth hand-over to the newly appointed Minister
“I will forever be grateful for the opportunity of working with a strong team in various departments,” Kherubino stressed.
Efforts by Juba Monitor to get comments from Gogrial State Information Minister, Edward Yier Yier was fruitless as his phone went unanswered.
