Former Vice President to Contest for SSFA Top Seat

Former Vice president of South Sudan Football Association, Mr. Yohanis Musa Pouk Nyundeng has declared to contest as president of SSFA in next year’s general election.

While addressing Journalists in Landmark Hotel-Juba, Musa said he intends to change the management system in SSFA and focus on restructuring the existing facilities and programs countrywide in order to develop the talents of the Youths by building better stadiums.  

“Through the State Ministry of Youth and Sports, SSFA shall allocate a special budget to Support all federations that organize women football tournament, and supports projects of building stadiums that serve the various local football associations knowing stadium are fertile ground for football growth,” said Musa.

Currently South Sudan has a National Coach but Musa said having an experienced manager to run the national team will be his Priority in order to get the results from international games.

“I will work to strength the National Teams Committee and appoint the right person with experience in training field, in order to equip the national team with a competitive advantage,” he added.

Yohanis Musa Pouk Nyundeng was one of the Co-founders of SSFA before who was voted in as Vice president of South Sudan Football Association in 2012 beating Andréa Abdullah in the elections by 31 votes against 6. He also holds the position of the deputy Treasurer SSFA and a member of media Committee in Council of East and Central Africa Football Association (CECAFA).
