Finance Minitry holds National Development Strategy

Ministry of Finance and Planning is conducting a three day training workshop on National Development Strategy to consolidate peace and stabilize the economy of the country.

Wani Buyi Dyori, the Underseceretry  of the Ministry of Finance said the National Development Strategy is stipulated in the peace agreement which he said its role was to provide strategic direction to guide planning, budgeting, service delivery and as well the economic recovery,

Dyori said the three year strategic plan will help in guiding development partners to align with national priorities, consolidate peace and stabilize the economy in the country.

Dyori added that the national development strategy aims at responding to specific needs, to get South Sudan back on the path to development, initiate and stabilize economic recovery to end the suffering.

“The National Development Strategy is a three year strategy that will respond to development and is targeted to consolidate peace to help in peace and capacity building processes, stabilization and initiate economic recovery,” he said.

He said the strategy that involves governance, economic and service delivery clusters will help other sectors to develop and align their plans to mobilize resources for economic reclamation in the country.

Dyori said the strategy would help government to strengthen its institutions and organizational capacities to ensure effective that multi-sector coordination is revived.

He called on the donor agencies, private sectors and economic clusters to join hands with the Ministry of Finance to work hard for economic recovery.

The official made these remarks at a one day symposium on three year strategic plan on national Development strategy organized by Ministry of Finance and Planning in Juba.

Dyori said that in the arrangement made in the Peace Agreement on Resolution of Conflict in South Sudan, the three sectorial clusters will include governance, economic and service delivery which will be involved in consultations to facilitate and help in identifying priorities interventions to deliver the national development strategy.
