Fifth Egyptian cargo arrives in Juba

The fifth batch of the Egyptian Cargo carrying food and non-food items worth 1000 cartons of assorted goods meant to rescue the humanitarian situation of South Sudanese arrived yesterday.

The items include macron, oil, mango juice among others.

The Director General for Administration and Finance in the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, Lawrence Akola received the items on behalf of the government while Nadar Shebl El Gendy, the Acting Eqyptian Ambassador to South Sudan and Brig. Mohammed Salama delivered the items on behalf of the Egyptian government.

Akola said right now six  governors were meeting at the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs in order to distribute the items among their states.

“This food will benefit the lives of the people who are severely affected by the ongoing food insecurity in the country,” he said.

Ambassador Nadar Shebl El Gendy said the donation was a directive from Egyptian President Abdul Fatal El Sisi.

He stressed that this humanitarian assistance should reach the most vulnerable people in the country.

“I hope that it will help and reach the people in need in South Sudan,” he said.
