Equity Bank continues to operate with five branches

Though Equity stopped the operation of its seven branches in the country since December 2016, the Bank still continues to provide financial services to the people of South Sudan, an official said yesterday.

Peter Kitheka Head of Marketing said the seven branches of Yambio, Torit, Kajo-Keji, SBL Branch, Malakal, and Bor had stopped operation due as a result of high inflation and devaluation of currency.

“The seven Branches will resume operation as soon as the cost of operation stabilizes, but for now we have five Branches as of Munuki, Juba, Supreme Hai-Amarat, Hai-Malakal and Nimule Branch,” Kitheka said.

Equity Bank is among Kenyan financial institution operating in the country,.  The bank also operates in Uganda, Tanzania, and Rwanda.
