Eight houses burnt in Aweil

At least a total of eight houses were burnt down by fire in Aweil town Northern Bahr EL Ghazal state on Sunday night, the Chief Executive Director of Aweil Municipality told Juba Monitor.

 Director Bol Ruonrac said the fire which started at around 7 P.M. on Sunday destroyed every single property within the buildings.

 He said no lives was lost in the incident urging those whose household got burnt to remain calm as investigation was ongoing to establish the cause of the fire.

He called on the National Government to provide the state with civil defense police with firefighting tanks in order to be able to contain such incidents whenever there was any outbreak.

 Mohammed Ahmed Alman a victim whose house got burnt appealed to the state government to protect civilian property from unexpected disaster like the fired.

“I am appealing to our government here in the state, please may you try to help and protect us from bad incident like what we are facing now. We don’t know what will do even today,” Ahmed wondered.

Mou Atak Mou said since his house got burned early Monday night his children spent sleepless night in an open ground.

“We need our state government to come and see our living conditions and also to support us,” Atak expressed.
