Dr. Igga appointed visiting professor

The administration of Juba University has appointed Dr. JamesWani Igga a visiting Professor of Finance. The Appointment Committee at the University bestowed the position to the Vice President Dr. James Wani Igga as a Visiting Professor at the University of Juba in Public Finance.

According to the appointment letter availed to Juba Monitor yesterday, the Appointment Committee of the University of Juba sat on the 5th June, 2017 in consultation with the Director of School of Public Service and agreed to offer Dr. Igga the position of a Visiting Professor of Public Finance for a period of three years.

The School of Public Service at the University of Juba offers Visiting Professor Appointments only to distinguished individuals who have special expertise needed to complement the academic programmes.

“Your appointment as a Visiting Professor is for a term of three years, beginning from July 2017 and ending in June 2020,” the appointment letter stated in part.

Dr. Igga will be expected to receive his assignment from the Director of School of Public Service every semester.

“If you are assigned to teach a credit course, you will be subject to the usual requirements of the faculty such as covering the whole credit hours, setting, marking and keeping assignment recordings, setting and marking examinations on time and any other assignments the Director of Public Service may give Dr. Igga such as supervision and mentoring of postgraduate students,” the appointment letter stated.

According to the appointment letter of Vice President Dr. James Wani Igga, Visiting Professors are eligible for remunerations only for tasks assigned to them by the heads of their schools or colleges.

The appointment letter was signed by the Director of Human Resource Management at the University of Juba and endorsed by Vice Chancellor of the University of Juba Professor John Apuruot Akec. Asked how he would go on managing other demanding national duties with his new assignment, the vice President slimed and said “l will manage. This is equally a national call” and promised to elaborate soon on his work-program and schedule of duty.
