DON BOSCO Technical Trainees Graduated
The Don Bosco Vocational Training Centre (VTC) at Gumbo held its graduation ceremony on 30th January 2021. More than 200 students were awarded diplomas in the field of General Electricity, Auto Vehicle Mechanic, Welding, Carpentry, Plumbing, Masonry, Computer and Secretarial trainings. The diploma awardees are from the batch of 2018. They had undergone a 2 years intensive course and 1 year of internship. Father Waldemar Jonatowski, the Principal of the VTC is an able teacher from Poland who has vast experience in Africa in managing and working in many VTCs. The Don Bosco Salesians are in South Sudan since 2006. By their dedicated service, they trained thousands of students by imparting technical skills trainings. The students trained by Don Bosco VTC are in good and running their own profession and employed many in the country.
Indian Ambassador S.D. Moorthy was the Chief Guest of the 6th Graduation ceremony of Don Bosco VTC. In his speech to the students, he commended the dedication of the students who opted technical streams as their career which would empower them as entrepreneurs, employers and teachers who will pave the strong foundation for progress of South Sudan. He thanked Father Joseph and Father Saijan of Don Bosco Salesians, who are form India, for their unstinted service to the student community of South Sudan. In his address to the students, Fr Joseph offered to train more students in new technical streams/skills if they got more support from the Government, business, industrial houses and general public.
