DC party pledges support for TGoNU
The Democratic Change Party [DCP] has pledged to work closely with the Transitional Government of National Unity [TGoNU] and support the process of the implementation of the peace through national dialogue.
Yeka Peter Hillary, the Acting Secretary General for DC party said first and foremost, it is well known that the party is not one man’s show. It is for collective ideas where people gather and hold one objective and vision.
Hillary made the statement during the commemoration of the 8th anniversary of DC party on the 6th-June-2009 in which he said his party hailed President Salva Kiir for including the members of the party in the national dialogue.
“The DCP participated in 2010 general elections and we are assuring the public that the national dialogue will bring lasting peace in the country because they are working closely with the government,” Hillary said.
“The party led by the alliance of the political parties under the leadership of the former DCP had worked hard in the negotiation of the peace talks which resulted into the signing of the Agreement on the Resolution of the Conflict in South Sudan (ARCSS) in August 2015,” he said.
He further said they are for unity though there are some members of the alliance who are being controlled by the remote system from outside saying the motive was to divide the DCP which the group did not succeed in it.
The DCP acting spokesperson said they have appointed 32 DCP members in the states to represent the party and promote the national dialogue in the country.
“We are for peace and development,” he said. “Now we have forgiven all those who were dismissed from the party due to misconduct and the chairman will soon lift their dismissal,” Hillary added.
