City council, companies strike deal on the provision of trucks and equipment

The Mayor of Juba City Council has said that they have signed a deal with a number of companies on the provision of garbage trucks and equipment to ease the collection of garbage within the circumference of Juba City.

Earlier, the   City Council signed a formal agreement with JICA, Co. Green Africa on the provision of garbage trucks and equipment to facilitate the collection of garbage in the city aimed at maintaining environmental management.

In an interview with Juba Monitor yesterday, Michael Wani Allahjabu said that the major aim of the agreement was centered on making a comprehensive collection of garbage to keep the city clean and healthy for the inhabitants.

‘’We have signed a number of agreements with several companies on the provision of garbage collection trucks and equipment in which Co.Green East Africa has promised to provide more than 10 trucks to the City Council to enable the collection of  garbage from homes’’ He said

Michael said that more than ten trucks for garbage collection were expected to reach Juba within this week from Co.Green East Africa Company as part and partial of the agreement.

Furthermore, Michael said that the availability of the truck would mitigate the dumping of garbage by citizens in the middle of the road since collection would be carried out from the house to house

He urged citizens to stand firm in supporting the initiative to be carried out by the administration of the Juba City Council.
