Church suspends activities over coronavirus

The Enlightened Christian Gathering (ECG) church has temporarily suspended all church services for a period of six weeks as a measure to prevent coronavirus.
Last week President Salva Kiir Mayardit suspended all gatherings, wedding, tea places, and football clubs church services because of the pandemic that has been reported around the glove.
In a statement extended to Juba Monitor, the National Pastor ECG South Sudan said the move was for the health and wellbeing of the country.
“Everyone must obey the state authority, because no authority exists without God’s permission, and the existing authority opposes what God has ordered and anyone who does so will bring judgment on himself,” the statement partly reads.
It said the services would be carried out through the official church television channel.
