Bright Stars back home today after Nairobi win

South Sudan National Team, Bright Stars that left for Uganda on 8th November 2020 for their first away game against the Cranes then to Nairobi Kenya on Friday.
Last week, the national team went Uganda and Kenya to play their first and second leg matches respectively and are expected to return home today after beating their illustrious neighbors from Nyayo National Stadium by the same margin as that in Kampala last week.
Bright Stars picked her first three points of the AFCON 2021 Qualifiers after a 1-0 win over the Uganda Cranes on Monday evening at Nyayo National Stadium in Nairobi, Kenya.
The goal was scored by the Ugandan-born South Sudanese and the Gor Mahia forward, Tito Okello, a recent switched fidelity to South Sudan who scored a penalty kick in the 35th minutes after the Cranes midfielder Khalid Aucho was red carded for a foul in the first half.
Despite pressure from Uganda, South Sudan stood her ground to claim a glorious victory and, in the process, slow-down the cranes charge to top the group.
The win still leaves South Sudan in the fourth position with three points after four matches while Burkina Faso leads the group with eight points after a draw with Malawi, with only a point ahead of the Uganda Cranes and Malawi in the third position with four points.
The Bright Stars will face Malawi and Burkina Faso in a Home and Away match on 22nd and 30th March 2021 respectively in March next year in the Total AFCON 2021 Qualifiers.
The top two finishers of each group will qualify for the final tournament in Cameroon next year.
