Black 04 striker knocked unconscious

Black 04 forward Kuku Tuna was terribly knocked unconscious on Monday during the opening game of the second division premier league between Black 04 Fc and City Stars in Yei.

Tuna was hurled by opponent, Innocent Emmanuel when he attempted to score an acrobatic goal just outside City star’s box in the 38th minute of the game.

According to Ben Blackjack, the club Secretary, Tuna passed out for about three minutes before regaining consciousness. “It took him three minutes to become conscious. It was a sad incident; even people, fans and the officials started crying because they thought the boy would die.”

He said eight Doctors from both clubs were around to give the player First Aid and rush him to the Norwegian People’s Aid (NPA) Hospital, saying the game is the worst officiated game he has ever witnessed.

The game ended 4-1 in favor of Black 04. Midfielder James Leya put the Blacks ahead in the 3rd minute of the game before Innocent Emmanuel equalized in the 22nd minute to get City stars back into the game. Unfortunately, Thomas Bida scored just six minutes later to put the Blacks ahead.

In the 32th minute Black 04’s Centre Back, Ezra Baba got sent off for a foul that resulted into a second yellow card. Six minutes later City star’s Emmanuel was also sent off for pushing Tuna, displacing him in air while he tried to score a goal with an acrobatic kick. In the second half, City stars were reduced to nine men when Abui Valencia got red carded for a reckless tackle on Peter Agogo. Smith and William Stephen scored in the 78th and 90th+ to give the Blacks a comfortable 4-1 win over rivals City stars.

Referee Denis, issued a total of 3 red cards and 11 yellow cards in the game with City stars getting 2 red cards and seven yellow cards, whereas, Black 04 got 4 yellow cards plus a red card.
