Bishop calls Christians for unity

The Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Tambura called for unity among the different communities in Western Equatoria State.

Over the weekend, thousands of Christians at the Central Denary of the Catholic Diocese of Tambura -Yambio gathered at St. Josephine Bakhata Paris in Yambio to hold a procession to St. Mary Paris mother of God, to observe Good Friday in commemoration of Jesus Christ’s Passion, crucifixion, and death which is told in the Christians’ Bible. In his sermon at St. Mary Paris mother of God, the Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Tambura Yambio called for unity among the different communities in Western Equatoria State and in South Sudan at large.

 Barani Hiiboro Kusala said the unity of South Sudanese is paramount for stability and development to prevail. “Let us refrain from tribalism, discrimination and embrace love. We need peace and harmony”. Bishop added

Bishop Hiiboro however called on parents to send their children to school so that they become vibrant citizens in South Sudan. He said by sending children to school can help reduce the rate of communal violence, division, and tribalism.

The Catholic prelate also encouraged Christians to seriously embark on farming this season in order to fight hunger and improve the level of food security in the State.

“We need to cultivate so that we can alleviate hunger in our society”. Bishop Hiiboro added

Today’s way of the cross marked an end of a Lenten campaign launched by the Bishop Hiiboro on the 11th of March 2022 under the theme “celebrating our diversities promoting our togetherness, healing our wounds and renewal of our State/Nation and justice for all”
