Arual Longar crowned Miss World South Sudan

Christine Arual Longar emerged the winner of Miss World South Sudan contest this year beating 13 beautiful contestants, who were battling for the country’s most prestigious beauty contest award. Akuc Bire was the runner up.
According to the Judges led by Akol Adok, the team looked for “beauty and brain,” saying they hoped the crowd chose the right person.
Christine was crowned by Lt. Gen. Gathoh Gathuoth Hothnyang, who represented the First Vice President, Taban Deng Gai as the Guest of Honor.
Gathuoth pledged the government’s support towards the organization of Miss World South Sudan. And the Minister of Gender, Child and Social Welfare Awut Deng Acuil appreciated the Miss World South Sudan body for bringing everybody together to see South Sudanese compete worldwide.
“If this beautiful girls win today it is the pride of Africa, it is not about us, it is about peace, it is about the things we do to move this country forward,” said Awut.
Meanwhile, Mrs. Nyanut Ring Von Habsburg, the Director of Miss World South Sudan said she believes that South Sudan will bring the crown for Miss World home.
“I believe this year the crown is coming home but with your support,” she said. These beautiful ladies here need our support, so that they can bring the crown home.”
Miss World South Sudan 2017/2018 was dedicated to women suffering from breast cancer, a disease Nancy Geri, the host of the night described as a silent killer. A moment of silent was revered for those who died of breast cancer.
In 2009, Ajah Gabriel Alaak was crowned Miss World South Sudan, while Tong Demach represented the country in 2012, Emmaunela Mdong in 2013, Awil Bor in 2014, Ajah Kiir in 2015, and Akwang Ayuel represented the country last year.
