Children affected by war should be helped to enable them rebuild their future and live a happy life once again, says Biro Kissy, the singer of the “war child”song.

Biro told Juba Monitor his song entitle “war child” carries an important message that calls for support to children who he says are always the most vulnerable group in conflict situations.

“I sung this song in 2013 immediately after the outbreak of the crisis…so the difficulties which some children had gone through should not be repeated,” he said.

“Children should be in school to study for their future instead of being recruited into armed conflicts.”

The singer said the ongoing conflict let to a lot of school dropouts and lack of access to proper medical care.

The “war child”song was the first single Biro recorded when he participated in the Tusker Project Fame TPF held in 2013 in Kenya’s capital Nairobi.

“After representing South Sudan in the TPF, I was offered a record deal within one of the studios, and this song coincided with December 2013 incident,” he said.

Bior Kissy, an accountant by profession, fully joined the music industry in 2014. He is an RnB and Afro Pop singer; a genre he said is still developing in the South Sudan’s music industry.
