His Grace Paulino Lukudu Loro , Archbishop of the Catholic Archdiocese of Juba on Saturday 9th November, 2019 inaugurated a Health Center built by Ursuline Sisters of the Immaculate Virgin Mary (IVM) at Kator West residential Area. The first aim of the Health Center is to save Maternity mothers. H.G Loro said the Health Center was built by Sisters of the IVM for Archdiocese of Juba. It is going to serve people of South Sudan. It is not for them as congregation, no body should come from the congregation abroad to be treated or give birth to babies in this Health Center, but those who are benefiting are the people of South Sudan. We need to own this Health Center because it is ours. If we said it belongs to sister’s community, we will not run it well.
The sisters are for the people of South Sudan. Archbishop acknowledged the team of Africa Tremila who came to attend the inauguration of the Center and the support they made for the building. Archbishop Loro also appreciated Dr. Sali Samuel, the Minister of Health, Jubek State for their support and registration of the Health Center. Archbishop Loro said one of the aims of the church is to take care of the health of people and education. That is why church builds schools and Health Centers in the Dioceses. It is to educate people and care for their wellbeing a part from the spiritual services.
Without knowing the status of our health we would not take care for ourselves as Christians in the country. All schools and Health Centers under the Archdiocese of Juba are for the people of South Sudan. You cannot segregate them in terms of sickness. Any person sick should get treatment in this Health Center, especially pregnant women. For the reason that the Health Center is for maternity care, any pregnant woman should visit the Health Center and give birth to babies.
However, tributes was paid to the team of Africa Tremila for the dead of their three members who died in plane crush on 10th of March, 2019 when they are coming to prepare for the inauguration of the Health Center in Juba. The Health Center was named after them and considered as” Three Stars”. They were Matteo Ravasio, Dr. Carlo Spini and Gabriella Viciano. She is the wife of Dr. Carlo; it was not easy for parents to die at the same time. The daughter of the late Carlo and Gabriella by the name Elizabeth came with the team of Africa Tremila to attend the ceremony. She was honored and the souls of Three Stars were considered blessing for the Health Center.
On that very evening, a woman gave birth to a baby girl in the Health Center; it was named Gabriella, after the decease. Children born after should follow the rest of the names of deceases. The ceremony ended with tradition dance by children of Kator west.
